I wanted to tell you how bored I am, but that would be boring, so I opted to share some of the things I do to kill boredom. Although most of the items here have proven effective for me, I cannot assure that these would have the same efficacy on you. If, after reading all this, you still feel just as bored or you still don't have a better idea as to how you can escape this feeling, then maybe you should start a blog.
Let me present to you my "Bore-cket" List:
I MUST play. Playstation used to be my thing. But before that, it was the Family Computer. I remember then, I'd usually ask my lola, "Pwede bang maglaro ng computer?" Of course, she'd say "No" but I would always take that as a "Yes." Kids. Playing video games used to occupy me for a whole day or afternoon. I especially liked Final Fantasy Tactics and VII, Star Ocean: The Second Story, etc. I also enjoyed Diablo and Yuri's Revenge and Counter Strike. Now it's DOTA, plus all the free games you can have on iPad.
I MUST go out. It was in 2009-2010 when I earned the title "Party Boy." Clubbing and "gimiks" every night became a routine for me, and I have to thank a friend and former officemate for influencing me to become such. I frequented clubs in Makati, Timog, Eastwood, The Fort, Malate, etc. Although it took a toll on my health (not seriously though), I do not regret ever having to fully enjoy my youth. Well, drugs escaped me, and I'm proud of that. I know my limitations.
I MUST travel. This has been my dream since college. Originally, it was just to get out of Luzon. So when I finally got out in 2009 when I went to Bohol, traveling became sort of a hobby. I initially planned to cover the Philippines in alphabetical order, doing Albay, Bohol, Cebu and Davao, but then after that I had a difficult time looking for 'E.' I trashed the plan. But I continue to travel. I'm going to Palawan next (I've been to Coron before), and hopefully it's be Batanes after that. I'll tell more of my travels in the coming entries.
I MUST write. It is my job, but writing, like any other passion, becomes a bore when you're being forced to do it. That's why I started a personal blog. It has become my playground ever since. Because of that, I got involved in some news a couple of times (because of some controversial topics I blogged about). Not me per se but my online persona. Thanks to blogging as well I was able to write two novels, and I'm about to finish my third this month. Yeah, I have that much free time ... and boredom.
I MUST do it. You know that particular activity when you're inside your room with nothing left to do. I mean, you've used the Internet the whole time, played Candy Crush or DOTA, read Manga or your textbooks (Really?) and still you're not satisfied? That's when the only thing left to do is use your hands and a little imagination (if you don't have the right tools). And off you go to wonderland. Oh yes!
